Hi, I'm Alice.
There is a version of therapy that helps you feel better, and a version that helps you actually understand yourself. I aim for both.
I'm a Brooklyn-based Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 6 years of experience, working with adults and teens online across New York State. I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees at Brooklyn College, and I offer sessions in English and Bengali.
Many of the people I work with are carrying anxiety, depression, or the long shadow of difficult experiences. Some are in the middle of a big transition. Others have felt 'fine' for years and are ready to look underneath.
I bring cultural understanding to my work with South Asian, Muslim, immigrant, and first-generation clients, and with people of color more broadly. You shouldn't have to explain your family, your faith, or your background before you can get to the real work.
I've spent my career working with the communities I grew up alongside. I became a therapist because I saw how often people carry things quietly, especially in families and cultures where mental health isn't easy to talk about. What I love most is the moment someone realizes they don't have to carry it alone anymore.
My approach
I draw primarily on CBT, trauma-focused approaches, and mindfulness, along with narrative work when it fits. In practice, that means we look at the patterns shaping how you think, feel, and relate to others, make space to process memories and what your body holds, and build skills you can use between sessions.
There's no fixed script. We move at your pace. Our first few sessions focus on understanding your history and what's happening now; from there, we shape a plan together. Many clients notice a meaningful shift within the first few months of consistent work.
